A slideshow that supports learners training

This post is about a task included in a collaborative project carried out by AporTICs. To complete the task we have to create a slideshow explaining the use of any online tool.

My peers and I decided to make our presentation about how to use Aurasma because it is the main tool of our animals’ project.

About Aurasma I have to say that It's a great tool for us as teachers and also for our students to learn more about Augmented Reality and to use it for learning content in an engaging and motivating way.

To create the presentation we used the tool “Google Slides” which none of us had used before. Google Slides offers almost the same options as Power Point and it is quite similar to use, so it has been easy for us to learn how it works: You can add pictures, videos, links, animations and so on. In our slideshow, we added pictures, a YouTube video, several links and also we used different text types to make it more visually attractive.

Finally, I leave you the presentation we have created and I hope you can learn a lot from it!

I hope you have learned a new way to create presentations, apart from Power Point, and I hope you will use Aurasma because the world of "augmented reality" is really great and very motivating for our students.
As you see, the TICs world is very wide and allows us to discover new ways to teach our students.

Choco-talks!

Hello bloggers!
For this post I have prepared something very sweet... have you heard about choco-talks?
It is people who meet for a sweet-snack in order to discuss about interesting topics. And this is exactly what we did last April 7th!

Our talk was about CLIL so, by teams, we had to prepare the topic we wanted to try and select a speaker, which is a person from each group to speak as representative of all during the choco-talk. The speaker of our team was Guillermo.
and the others speakers were: Rubén, Álvaro, Neus, Inma, Laura, Patricia, Lola , Celia and our teacher María Jesús.
The next step was to promote the talk. For it our teacher created a poster and a post in her blog to publicize the event and then we made our own publicity as a team, what do you think about our poster?

People in charge of publicizing the talk by social networks were Sara and I. I want to say you that disseminator work is fun and hard at the same time, you have to be aware of a thousand things at once, but the work was worth it. My partner Sara and I had a great time being the disseminators of our team and certainly we would do it again!

When the day came, the speakers were connected through an online application that broadcast on youtube, If you could not see it that day, here I leave you the video of our choco-talk:

During the talk, as I said before, Sara and I were the disseminators so we tweeted a lot of relevant information about the talk. We also create surveys to know the opinion of our supporters.

Once the talk came to an end, Marina, Laura and María had to cure all information which was treated during the talk in order to create a Storify summarizing the content. Storify is a great tool to curate information. It is intuitive and easy to use.

Do you want to see how does it works? Here you can see our work:

And finally I must say that all of this was part of a collaborative project created by the blog tertuliasconsaborachocolate. When we finished the task we send it to the directors of the blog and they rewarded us with this award:

I really enjoy this task so I recommend you that if you ever can be part of a choco-talk don’t be afraid of it, participate!

Learning about Infographics

“INFOGRAPHICS”
I've heard that word several times, but until now I had not stopped to inquire about it.
As teachers, we spend our whole day explaining things to our students, sometimes words fall short and we have to find new ways to explain. Infographics are a good tool for this because they combine words with pictures and are very explicative.

Do you want to see an example?

Here you have the one that we have done explaining our animals project. As you can see, we have created a vertical infographic.

But, how we did this infographic?
To create our Infographic we used the program Piktochart , is a program easy to use: you must register on the website and once you are registered you can start to create.

In these screenshots you can see that there are several types of infographics: infographic, presentation, poster and report. So first you ought to select the type of infographic you are going to create and once you have done, various free examples appear, so you can select the one you want and then start with your infographic.

There is also a Pro version that allows you to use more models, but this version is not free.

When we finished this task I learned that infographics are a good tool to teach because they provide visual support to our explanations. Moreover, they are easy to create so our students can also create their own infographics to explain their classworks.

TEACHERS OF THE WORLD: Make use of this tool! I hope you have learned something interesting about infographics with this post and I also hope that my tutorial on piktochart be useful to you.

When we finished this task, infoedugrafías rewarded us with this beautiful award:

You can leave me a comment with the infographics you do, enjoy!
